*NEW* Pediatric Speech Therapy Program

We would like to announce a new addition to our staff and a new department to our organization! Please join us in welcoming Claire Cottrill, CF-SLP to Mountain River. Claire will be starting our Pediatric Speech Therapy program out of our Garfield Medical Complex location in Parkersburg, WV. She will be a joining a team of Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapists to round out our team approach for Pediatrics.

Claire is originally from Point Pleasant, WV where she graduated from Point Pleasant High School. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology as well as her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from West Virginia University in 2016. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in both her undergrad and post – graduate studies. Claire’s other honors included WVU Speech Pathology Outstanding Graduate Student Award 2016, WVSHA Foundation Scholarship Recipient 2015, and WVU Speech Pathology & Audiology Best All-Around Undergraduate Student Award 2014.

While obtaining her degrees at WVU, Claire also gained valuable clinical experience in a variety of settings. These experiences included an opportunity to work with a team of professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, vision specialists, and dieticians to develop a comprehensive plan for children with severe disabilities. She completed her clinical rotations with working in the outpatient and birth to three settings while treating pediatric patients in feeding, augmentative and alternative communication, autism, and other speech and language disorders.
